Sunderland snap up £3.5m Halford

Strange piece of transfer news. Sunderland have bought Greg Halford for £3.5 million.

Clearly, once we’d got him, we didn’t like the look of him and made a quick profit. But as we only signed Greg in January it seems a very short period of time to assess a player. Surely the best from a young player comes after a period of time settling in and also a good pre-season?

It seems odd that Reading were so sure of their player when they initially bought him, yet ditch him so soon. It comes with the news that De La Cruz has signed a deal for another season, so we’ll continue to have backup for Murty.
