International Reading Roundup

It’s not been the best of times for Reading’s International troupe of players. Nicky Shorey didn’t feature in England’s qualifier after doing so well against Brazil. It was fairly understandable as Wayne Bridge is a very good player.

However, Ivar Ingimarsson was on the wrong end of a 5-0 drubbing as Iceland were crushed by Sweden. Worse was his part in a goal which is the perfect example of why you should play to the whistle.

Maybe Ingimarsson thought the referree had given a penalty, but I hope he never does that in the Premiership.

Leroy Lita followed up missing a penalty for England Under 21’s by missing a sitter in the game against Italy. He did make up for it somewhat by scoring a good long range effort to make it 2-0. Unfortunately, the Italians got back into the game and made it 2-2.
